Hi aabid,
well aabid what i understand from the query u have made i presume u can’t stop an optical signal completely from transmission, the signals will be there even if u are able to do so. In case of WDM system which i am presuming u need to implement this logic has in any case all the signals present even after many stages of filtration. What u require is a suppressor ( controller ) which might help u in this case.
thanks and regardsMarch 10, 2016 at 11:10 pm #32392Topic: Simulating a 3R transponder
in forum SYSTEM
Tung Tran VanParticipantI simulate a wdm system using 3R transponders but system performance is so bad ( Q factor ~ 2-3 ) :(( . Should I change what parameters to improve system?
Thanks all.
I attached my project test2.osd.
The 3R transponder structured as shown below.

hello ranjeet,
We are not talking about the fiber bragg grating here but the bandwidth of WDM mux and its effects on the overall performance and performance of the component itself. Please refer to the topic first. I guess you misread the topic but anyway replies and suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks and regards

Hi Aabid sir,
I have problem in designing bi-directional OFDM PON , Here i am uploading unidirectional OFDM PON , please suggest or if possible make some necessary changes in it. i want to design it like WDMPON.March 9, 2016 at 1:17 pm #32126In reply to: BER of an optical system

Hi sahil,
If you will use advanced modulation formats like CSRZ, DRZ, MDRZ, DPSK AND QPSK , it will give propagate over larger distance for appreciable Q-factor and minimum BER.
I have designed 8 channel wdm system using different advanced modulation format mentioned above. I think MDRZ IS best of csrz and drz.
Here, i am uploading osd file of WDM SYSTEM USING MDRZ modulation format.
HOPE THIS will help you to understand things more properly.March 9, 2016 at 11:59 am #32097In reply to: BER of an optical system

Hi Ranjeet kumar,
I am indeed designing a wdm system… Can you please specify which modulation formats cause less BER ?
Thanking you for your earlier responsose…March 9, 2016 at 10:29 am #32070In reply to: Bandwidth parameter for each component

Hi i am using simple WDM system with all the modulation formats such as NRZ , RZ CSRZ and CRZ allwayes the best MUx/DeMax Bandwidth for the 18 channel system I use 2*Bit-rate which it works perfect
March 9, 2016 at 6:06 am #32031In reply to: BER of an optical system

Hi Sahil,
First you should clear the type of system you are designing and having problem with.
In wdm system, if you increase the power of Laser, the BER and Q-factor will increase, in addition to this if you decrease the bit rate in global parameters the BER and Q-factor may increase, some modulation formats cause less the BER and Q-factor while other give large.March 9, 2016 at 6:01 am #32030In reply to: OSSB Modulation

Hi Gokul,
Many designs are available for OSSB modulation with tunable optical carrier-to-sideband ratio with FBG-based acousto-optic tunable filter,we also Power optimized OSSB modulation to support multi-band OFDM services along hybrid long-reach WDM-PONs and Subcarrier Multiplexed transmission system employing OSSB modulation.

Hi gulkaran bajwa…
Well i think you can refer lesson of 16 Optical System Tutorials namely Channel WDM System Design.
This lesson demonstrates the basic features of a typical WDM optical communication system and shows the basic design steps with OptiSystem.
For your reference i am attaching a link which might help you.
Hope that your problem gets solved.
Also i would like to mention that OptiSystem component library includes different types of components for WDM systems, the tunable optical filters include Fabry-Perot filters, Mach-Zehnder interferometers, and grating based filters. now it also depends on the design you are designing. I would recommend you to go through the tutorial. I am posting the link. Please refer to it.
regards

hi Zulkarnain…..
in order to understand about the filters in optiwave you should consult the link where it is already discussed…

in forum SYSTEM
gulkaran bajwaParticipanthello friends,
I am doing work on equal and unequal channel spacing in WDM network to reduce the effect of Four Wave Mixing using 8 and 16 channel. BUT I have a problem in unequal channel spacing because I am getting distorted signal at receiver side (DEMUX). Please help me out of this problem.

hi ranjeet..
In my opinion the OFDM block position array arranges the position of the central frequency of the OFDM spectra, but please check whether this is true.
For your reference i am attaching few links in which this is discussed which might help you.
