    HELLO DHIMAN..

Yes i agree to your point that its better to go for advanced modulation schemes. But the cost and complexity of such circuits is very high…I wish to achieve the same performance as provided by advanced schemes at much lower complexity and cost….Also my major focus is to achieve a high power budget for TWDM-PON Networks which can be achieved at high values of transmitter power.
And DMLs show an improved performance over externally modulated transmitters at very high levels of launch power…
    Thanks & regards

    Hi all ,

Could someone tell me what should I set on as parameters in the wdm multiplexer (especially the bandwidth, depth, frequency and filter order), I know it depends on the type of modulation formats used, but I wanna know how to set an appropriate parameters to get good results, same question for the dwm demultiplexer

    Hi Lisa,
In your design in each case you are multiplexing two wavelength or frequency but I have seen that same data you are applying same data to both the wavelength because you are using fork for the both the measured laser component. That means same data transmitting in different optical carrier, what advantage you are getting for that please let me know. and same data you are applying (because you are using fork) ie. copying the same data to two wdm add and drop component. can you refer me the paper which you are trying to realize. I am a bit confused. Thanking you.

    regards,
    Dhiman

    Hi,
This component regenerates an electrical signal. It generates the original bit sequence, and a modulated electrical signal to be used for BER analysis. It is a subsystem based on the Data Recovery component and a NRZ Pulse Generator.
This first output port is the bit sequence, the second one is a modulated NRZ signal and the last output is a copy of the input signal. These three signals can be connected directly to the BER Analyzer, avoiding additional connections between transmitter and the receiver stage.
By using the 3R Regenerator, there is no need for connections between the transmitter and the BER Analyzer. This is especially important for WDM systems, where you have with multiple transmitters, receivers and BER Analyzers. For more information, see “Spatial CW Laser”.

Out of the available transmitters and receivers in the optiwave library.Which ones should I prefer for designing the transceiver section of the Optical Line Terminal Units (OLT) and Optical Network Terminals (ONUs) in TWDM-PON ?

    hi all here
can u people plz tell me how can i make my results better..i am designing a simple four channel WDM system at 10 Gbps..my fiber lenght is 150km and transmitter power i hv taken as 10dBm..i get good quality factor around 25 bt BER is very high..
it s abt 0.345 e-012..i hv to get it close to 1.
Plz can u people tel me hw i reduce it..i wil grateful

    Hi Jyoti,
I am unable to open the file you have uploaded namely WDM-add-drop1.osd and WDM-add-drop.osd.
In layout both doesn’t show any components in the design.
i have tried to open both files but both design doesn’t show any components.
I don’t know why it is happening, i am using 30 days trial version of optisystem 14.

    Hi,
Fiber amplifiers used in WDM systems usually make use of control systems as power or gain. Designs Er-doped fiber amplifiers by considering numerical solutions of the rate and the propagation equations under stationary conditions. The model includes amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) as observed in the amplifier Erbium Doped Fiber.
The main difference is related to the amplifier pump scheme selection. You can choose co-propagating, counter-propagating, or bi-directional pump schemes with the option to set wavelength and pump power. Geometrical Er-doped fiber parameters and cross-section curves are required as input files. As output files, you can access gain, output power values, and noise figure determined in the ASE bandwidth set as noise input data.
Enables the design of amplifiers, including EDFAs, that consider pre-defined operational conditions. This means that expected gain, noise figure, and amplifier output power can be previously specified. The amplifier presents the same facilities as a black box model, which enables you to select the operation mode with gain control, power control, or to perform simulations under saturated conditions, as well as define the expected amplifier performance. It is specially suited to perform prompt performance analysis of one or cascaded amplifiers in a long-haul system.

    Hi Urvi,
due to bad internet connectivity i was unable to upload the osd file of 7 user wdm system with DPSk modulation schemes,
    Which i was discussing above.
Now i am uploading that osd file of DPSK
    Hope this may help you.
