Hello there,
Here is a BPON network from the Samples Folder in Optisystem.
An modification was added by me to the network by adding an EDFA Amplifier in order to increase the optical pulse qualityThe problem is once I edite the power in (WDM-transmitter) inside ONU .., then the Q.Factor becomes “0” ! and BER indicates to “1” !! ((IN UPSTREAM))
So, could anyone of you guys help me with this ..

Dear sirs/madam,
I’m working on the erbium doped fiber amplifier. I designed a simple configuration of single-pass EDFA. I used a dual port WDM analyzer to calculate the gain and noise figure characteristics.
As I know, the noise figure is calculated by using this equation: NF = (SNR)in – (SNR)out.
However, I got different NF when I used the equation above (please see the attached photo).Could you please inform me what the equation that used by dual port WDM analyzer to calculate the NF.

Designed the SCM WDM RoF in optisystem 17 as my basepaper is also implemented in optisystem 17 and I kept all the same parameters as mentioned in my base paper .But I don’t know why output is not coming (BER and Q factor are 1 and zero ) and in transmitter a lot of noise is coming and receiver showing zero output .I am attaching the osd file .

I am working on the layout of a research paper based on topic “Simulating Analyzing of Covering Suburban Areas with 32× 10 Gbps DWDM-PON FTTH Using Different Dispersion and Power.” but I am unable to get results as it is taking too long to calculate optical fiber while running the simulation. The time is exceeding 11 minutes. I have set all the parameters according to the research paper. Please help me out with the simulation. hi. i designed 150 km dual polarization QSPK with coherent detection in 4 WDM channel and use DSP for QPSK component in order to compensate impairments. obviously without EDFA the results are not good. but when i increase the length of fiber to 160km, the BER become very very good!!!
how can i describe this?

Greetings. I want to learn how to analyze BER diagrams. I understand the eye diagram. There are lots of articles on the internet about it. But I can’t find any source about Q factor and how to analyze it.
I am currently using OptiSystem 17.1 and the attachment includes 2 BER diagrams of my TWDM PON system designs that I have nothing to commentate. Any help appreciated.
