    hi fady
In order to realize bidirectional ofdm system first you need to make a system using bidirectional fiber by placing ofdm transmitter and receiver on both sides .However working of bidirectional fiber in bidirectional system is little tricky ,you need to add null signals for upstream tx signals. Here are some examples of bidirectinal fiber and working

Lesson 5: Bidirectional Simulation — Working with Multiple Iterations

Use of BD in Bpon is given in this link

Broadband Optical System Based on a Passive Optical Network (BPON)

Try designing system by taking one Tx and Rx on both sides and if it works try to increase them.Let us know if our information helps and share your base paper or reference content you wish to reproduce for better information.

hi ranjeet.. i guess it may be due to nonlinerilty in DWDM system .. you can try nonlinerilty control for better results..

    Hi Sahil Sir..
Thanks for your reply..indeed it was helpful.i found it on the forum too..WDM analyzer is used to measure OSNR and SNR directly..Thanking you..

    Hi Jyoti

As rightly mentioned by Dhiman we can use WDM analyzer for calculation of Optical Signal to noise ratio… A very useful point figured out by Dhiman.. Hope this helps

I tried to simulate this design for 25 and 50 GHz spacing but could not get a better result as you have mentioned because the output sidelobes has sufficient power so going more denser in multiplexing results i overlapping of information, I got least power at side lobes while designing MSK transmitter but still work is going on that project. Looking for response from people who have done extensive work on WDM.

    Hi Everyone,
I want to design Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing System using different advanced modulation formats like CSRZ, DRZ, MDRZ and DPSK and DQPSK.
My aim to design above system with channel spacing 50GHZ and 25GHZ.
I have design the above networks for 100GHZ channel spacing using symmetrical compensation technique and at a bit rate of 40gbps and for long haul communication i.e upto 1200 Km.
Here i am uploading 32 channel WDM system with 100ghz channel spacing system at 40 gbps bit rate and using symmetrical compensation technique. But when i decease the channel spacing upto 50ghz and 25 ghz, we doesn’t find results at BER analyzer, although it works for channel spacing of 75ghz.
So, I request you to suggest some techniques or steps to get it.
Here I am uploading an osd file of 100 ghz channel spacing CSRZ DWDM system.

    Seeking your response.

Hi Jyoti you can use WDM analyzer for calculation of Optical Signal to noise ratio. I have attached here with a sample that may find beneficial. Thanks

    Hello Everybody.

I am actually designing a four channel basic wdm system and no doubt i am able to calculate the min ber and max quality factor of each receiver on the reception side.. Here i would like to ask if it possible to calculate the overall signal to noise ratio of the whole system . Please can you tell me if there is some procedure or method to do so.. i want to calculate the optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) of the system.. I hope i will get some response from you people..
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hello Everyone.
I had posted my query some days ago but its very unfortunate that i did not get any replies. I am reposting it and i hope this time around i get some responses from you people.
Actually I have to design Simulation Of DWDM For RZ, NRZ and Coherent QPSK Modulation for free SPACE OPTICAL COMMUNICATION. In my work I analyze that:
Coherent QPSK Modulation is Best Among RZ AND NRZ for Free Space Optical Communication.
Either Increase in Transmitter Power of Aperture area of the Tx and Rx will significantly improve BER.
Compare to PIN diode, APD improves BER as Receiver Sensitivity is improved.
As we increase our aperture diameters Q factor increases but for a particular aperture diameter Q factor starts decreasing as we increase the link distance and bit rates.
Can anyone explain why this is happening?

    Thanking you people in advance.

    Hi everybody.

I’m done with my 4-QAM DDO-OFDM WDM system now. But I want to develop it to 16-QAM.
    What parameters should I change?.
I known the bit per symbol of QAM generator and reference bit rate of OFDM demodulator OS12 must be changed.

How about the cut off frequence of filters and bandwidth of MUX (DEMUX)? What equation i can use?

If you have time please answer me.

    Thanks and regards

    Hi Dhiman Kakati.

    Thanks for your reply.
I tried to rebuild my DDO-OFDM WDM system. And now I have the constellation like this:
    constellation
It doesn’t seems true. What can i do to enhance it?
I re-attached new simulation file below.

    Best regards.
    Duy.

    Hi everyone.

Sorry to bother you. But can i ask you some questions.
I’am newbie and by following the OFDM modulation sample in sample folder, I’m trying design a DDO-OFDM WDM.
In that file. We have Quadrature Modulator frequency is 7.5 GHz and the CW laser frequency is 193.1 THz, so the reference wavelength of optical fiber is 193.1075 THz.
But if it’s a WDM system with CW laser is 193.1,193.2…, so
    1. What value we can set to reference wavelength of optical fiber ?
    2. How can we calculate the Bandwidth of MUX and gain of the first Optical amplifier ( the one before Loop, usally is 13dB gain and 4dB figure noise).
    3. The constellation isn’t correct, what can i do to enhance my system?
    Constellation
I’m very appreciated for your help. I attached simulation file below.
    Thanks and regards.
