    Hello ,
    I would like to do a co-ofdm simulation with 4 channels, each transmit 10gbps, multiplexed with WDM, and with a single mode fiber of a length of 60km, as a result I notice that the BER is 0.48. is it normal ? and what value should i change to decrease the BER?
    please i need help

    so to be sure, if i want to simulate triple play GPON, i will used WDM transmitter to transmit data in 1490 nm and video in 1550 with both NRZ coding modes and in the receiver side i will only use wdm demux, anl all of this wihthou any adding of psudo random generator or sine generator

    you can use a N*1 WDM to insert N wavelengths to optical Fiber.

    Hi all,
    I want to simulate triple play (voice – data – video) using bidirectional GPON, so to do that only i will use a WDM to differ between data and video?
    and can any one help me by sending a picture of triple play structure?

    Hello Kamaran,
    I suggest to start reading an up-to-date invited paper in coherent PON, first. this will give you a good vision on what is going on in this field. many points you can figure out, where things are. Such as, ultra dense WDM, PON and nonlinear effect on the system performance. Or another point, the single and dual polarization PON.
    In OptiSystem, there some examples that you can start with to guide you step by step.

    Thank you for your reply…I got a clarity now on this.
    Also, do you know any challenges faced by UDWDM PON system so that I can focus my research more toward that way and thus I can save time. I am working on it past 3 months but couldn’t find any challenge to work on it. Please just let me know if any. It would be of great help for me.

    can anyone please tell me what is the exact relation between Q factor and BER?
    I am working on UDWDM PON systems where in I tried to design a basic WDM PON design in which I got a few results as shown in attached file below.

    Dear Ayat
    You can change the OSNR by combining a white light source with your laser source.On changing the power of white light source,the OSNR may be changed and you can get OSNR value by using a WDM analyzer or Dual port WDM analyzer which will show you the OSNR value and corresponding BER too.

    hello all,

    there is a problem when connecting a port to the subsystem. I HAVE ATTACHED THE UDWDM PON DESIGN BELOW
    if i create subsytem after connections then it is ok but if once the links are cut, i am unable to connect it again. so i have to bring total system out of subsystem to make connections .

    also if i create subsystem first and then creating input and output ports in it, i am unable to make connections betweem subsystem and outer main layout parts.
    please help me in this regard.
