Hi can I just used EDFA amplifier? Will it be enough to design a 8 DWDM channel with channel speparation of 100 GHZ. Do you have a a diagram example to design such channel?
And how do you decide the transmission band?
Thank You.
Hi another question.
If I want to design a 8 DWDM channels(with demultiplexer) from A to B using a SMF.(separation of each channel is 100GHz) What kind of amplification method should I used? Also what kind of transmission band will be suitable?
PS: if you don’t mind can you illustrate with a diagram.
The whole system. Thank you.
1) It depends on the Erbium fiber length…the longer the active fiber, the lower the output power when pump is off
Do you have an example? Thank you.
Sorry question below:
1) What will happened to the amplification and noise properties of the WDM channels if EDFA is used simultaneously to amplify multiple WDM channnels span over the gain wavelength range of the EDFA?
Thank you Alessandro,
Another questions
1)What will be the output optical power level of the EDFA with input 1550 nm power when the 980 nm pump light is completely turned off?
Thank you!
Hi Alistu
My opticsystem expired. So I can’t access it anymore.
how do calculate the output wavelength for the attached photo?
So noise are consider as non linear effect?
Hi Alistu but from the link here I googled.
why they only mentioned attenuation and dispersion?
Hi Alistu
Thank you for your replies. Another question. If now I varies my optical attenuator to different value. And my optical fibre length is set to 30km and attenuation is 0.2db/km. My eye diagram worsen when my optical attenuator increased. Is it because attenuator affect power?
Hi Alistu
If now my optical fibre length attenuation is set to 0db/km. So I won’t need to use the optical amplifier. How do I improve SNR? I mean other than increasing the power?
Hello Alistu
Do you know how to improve on the SNR using the same system?
Thank you
sorry please find attached error.
