      Hi all,

For analyzing bit sequence along the transmission link in my system design I make use of optical time domain visvalizer (OTDM) along the channel as one after MZ modulator, one after 100 km single mode fiber, one after Dispersion compensation module (DCM) however the
sequence shown after (DCM) has some missing initial bits..

      Thanks and Regards

      Hi all

Can this be a delay problem ?

      Thanks and regards

      Hello Deepak,

If your time domain visualizer is missing some bit this means that it is not getting transmitted at first place. Your system has then enough dispersion due to which this happens.
What is the fiber length you are using?

      Thanks

and yes if is due to delay then you may have to use multiple iteration to visualize. Any bit can’t go missing becuase of delay. Logically it will be delayed only.

      Thanks

      Hello Deepak,

I partly agree with Nagesh. Can’t you use any other visualizer for visualizing your bit sequence?
I think we have binary bit sequence visualizer yet i am not sure. You check the visualizer library i have a slight idea about it. I hope it will help you.

      Hello Deepak,

I agree with nagesh,if your time domain visualizer is missing some bit this means that it is not getting transmitted at first place. It has been said very rightly that your system has then enough dispersion due to which this happens…

      Hi deepak,
I suggest you to please visit the following links to get your problem be solved .
You shouls refer to optisystem tutorial to understand the operation of OTDM and follow the instruction because there is
difference between the compression stages were some parameters such as Bit rate at the PRBS Generator and the Delay at the Time Delay compon, as when the data stream is externally modulates a periodic stream of narrow pulses.
Because the bit interval is T, the separation between successive pulses is also T.
So, first we have to reduce the interval between successive pulses to T2, a high- rate multiplexed signal. This is done by passing the initial sequence through a series of compression stages.
