After optimizing pump power and frequencies of Raman Amp for gain flatness, output OSNRs are very low. With several EDFA amplifiers, system performance is so bad.
How can i improve the DWDM system performance using Raman amp?
I attached my project (layout2)

Here’s the images of WDM-PON. Images 7 and 8 show the general layout. Image 9 shows the subsystem “circulators”. Image 10 shows the implementation of “AWG 8×8” subsystem and image 11 shows AWG 1×8 architecture. The structure of “ONU2” is shown in screen shot 12 (all ONUs share the same structure in general).

Hello Gulkaran,
if you read my comment again i didn’t mention to use TWDM for upstream. I wrote its trending topic these days and lot of research is being done on this scheme. It is used in passive optical networks extensively these days and gives a better performance. That is why i thought of telling you go through TWDM because you are designing a PON system and i see lot of work being done on TWDM PON systems.regards

Here are the screen shots for XGPON. Image 1 shows the overall layout. Image 2 shows the WDM combiner subsystem. Image 3 shows cyclic WDM MUX/DEMUX, and image 4 shows 1:32 XGPON subsystem. 1:64 was quite the same as this one, so I just posted the image of one of them in here. Should be quite clear…

Alistu i think he needs more of literature survey as of now. He is not sure about what techniques to use. First he must survey about current schemes used in current scenario and compare them and decide which one to use for his design.
Currently TWDM is very hot topic.
Gulkaran please refer to the following link. It may help.

hi
i am working on coherent detection 4-QAM WDM optical OFDM. i got BER of 0 with 4QAM. but when i am using 16QAM ,getting BER of 0.4809so please suggest me what are the changes needed.
i am attaching the file

Hi Gulkaran,
Can you please elaborate more on the different coding schemes you want to adopt? NGPON2 makes use of WDM for downstream and TDM for upstream. This is an essential part of the architecture of its physical layer, so unless you want to do exactly as the standard (for example with the same large number of users at each node and so on) I think you can make use of OS TDM and WDM examples to do the implementation.

you are welcome gaganpreet.
well i think you need to go through post #29752 again where Damian sir had mentioned how we can use dual port WDM analyzer for calculating parameters. As such i haven’t used it for now in my project work.
Please post your response when you are done with it. It may be helpful for me too.February 25, 2016 at 7:41 am #30164In reply to: HYBRID TDM/WDM PON

Hi Gulkaran,
Could you please specify the type of hybrid passive optical network you are seeking? I mean, it is necessary to know what the access techniques used in your hybrid structure should be. BTW, the only hybrid standardized PON is NG-PON2 as far as I know, which is not available in OptiSystem samples.

P.S. I hadn’t noticed your topic title! It is hard to attach a screen shot, but you might be able to open the file at the following topic with OS7:
Let me know if it helps.

gulkaran bajwaParticipanthello everyone,
i need simulation of hybrid PON in optisystem 7 if you have upgraded version then in that case please attach screenshot of your simulation in a comment below. thankyou (i have BPON sample but its not hybrid)February 25, 2016 at 12:48 am #30142In reply to: Does anyone know how to create a WDM ring network?

hello Lisa!
you may go through the paper the link of which follows. It is a journal. It shall give you clear idea about establishing a WDM ring network.

Hi Lisa,
please see the following page where a metro-ring network is discussed. Two access nodes and four end users are there in the implementation:
Also, please use the corresponding “WDM Ring WISE_NRZ_DM.osd” file in OptiSystem samples.

LisaaaaParticipantI want to know how to create a WDM ring network with amplifiers? for example use four nodes , use Multiplexers and Demultiplexers.
