Hello everyone, I am working on the PON, for upstream i am using TWDM. The system works well for small number of ONUs (Few time slots), once I increase the number of time slots the simulation stops after a few seconds the Optisystem crashes and following error is displayed on the screen

“A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program & notify you if the solution is available”

the screenshot is also attached. Please suggest me any possible cause
In my view, following are the expected reasons for it.
1. RAM of my PC which is 4GB is low for the setup.(I am going to upgrade RAM and will test again)
2. There is a problem in setting Sequence length, Time window, Sample rate in global parameters
Apart from it, Please suggest me possible cause and solution if any.

I want to ask, I am now making a DWDM system design, on the transmitter side using Optical Gaussian Pulse Generator. I use 0 dBm power, and I vary the power -2 dBm and 2 dBm, and I get the result using power -2 getting Q-Factor results and Bit Error Rate better than power 2. is that correct?

I have a doubt regarding the bandwidth of a WDM MUX with 4 channels.. By default the value for WDM MUX and DEMUX is 10 GHz. When I increased the bit rate from 10 to 40 Gbps for a simple WDM system , I got a distorted Eye Diagram . Should I increase the Bandwidth of WDM MUX to more than 10 GHz ?? Please Reply..

I am not very sure of what you want to do exactly, but from what i suspected, you want to implement spectrum slicing based on the super continuum principle due to self phase modulation. In this regard the idea is to slice equally the broadened pulse due to SPM. Further from your layout, I am not sure but I suspect you want to implement Spectrum slicing WDM.

If that be the case, then try the following:
1: The frequency of the OGPG should be the same as that of the AWG, MUX, and deMUX
2: The first AWG should be a slicer, that separates various slices
3: This is immediately followed by data modulation
4: The ES MUX can now multiplex the modulated slicies
5: Transmit in the optical fiber

Similarly at the receiving end, your deMUX should be set at the same frequency as the OGPG, AWG and MUX. just take note of the frequency spacing in order to extract exact slices.
One more point with WDM, you will also have to play around with the bandwidth of the MUX and deMUX to arrive at the one which will give you stisfactory results.
