In this journal at Fig. 3 and at Fig. 4 Low Pass Bessel filter is used. I have seen similar simulation diagrams, where, after a photodetector a low pass filter is used to filter out the electrical signal.

But why is it necessary to use a low pass filter?
Why not other types of filters?
    Can anyone explain?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello everybody.
I am working on a 16 channel WDM network.

I have got this eye diagram.

1.Is the eye diagram OK or is it completely wrong?
2.What is the eye diagram lacking?
    3.How can I improve this?

Hi, I need an OSD file of a Passive optical network capable of 4 wavelengths, which can provide 40Gbps using Time and wavelength division multiplexing. If anyone have it. Kindly share. Thanks

    I mean 50 GHz WDM channel spacing in question 2 ( 193.1 THz, 193.15 THz, 193.20 THz).

    Hello everyone,

Please help me, my question is about Dual Polarization QPSK CO-OFDM ( 60 Gbps for each single polarization CO-OFDM):

    1. After Dual Polarization QPSK CO-OFDM signal I use Optical Gaussian Filter. So, what is the optimum bandwith required for this filter ?

and why ? There is any formula may be according number fo subcarrier or anything ?

    2. When for example I use 3 channels Dual Polarization QPSK CO-OFDM WDM with 50 GHz, there is interference between these channels. Why ?

what is the solution ? ” see the attached picture ”

I very need your help. Please help me. I need your help urgently.

Many thanks and best regards for all.

    Hello Shen,
The WDM analyzer is able to calculate the OSNR for more than one wavelength and you can set the wavelength range. You need to access the component properties by right click on the analyzer and select component properties, then set the wavelength range of interest.

Hye guys. I need help. I cannot find the WDM PON sample because I am using Optisystem version 9.0. What is the best setup for the FTTH if my title for the research is Performance Analysis of FBG Based WDM-PON using FTTH Architecture?

Thanks for your reply! But the WDM analyzer can only be used to get the OSNR of specific wavelengths, can I use it to get the OSNR of wavelengths I want? For example, how can I use WDM to get the OSNR of converted lightwave after FWM? I always get the OSNR of signal lightwave and pump. I’m looking for your answer.
    regards,
    Shen

    Hello Shen,
You need to use WDM analyzer component to get the OSNR data.

Hi Muhammad, i believe the examples library will be of help to you for your project. You can find an example of WDM PON system in the samples library. This example should give you an idea of what to do. In the Optisystem software click file, and click example. The file WDM PON example can be found by following the file path below.
Note: your optisystem samples folder may be saved somewhere else.
    C:\Users\NAME\Documents\OptiSystem 16.0 Samples\Metro and access systems\PON and CDMA systems
