    Hello Everyone.

Actually I have to design Simulation Of DWDM For RZ, NRZ and Coherent QPSK Modulation for free SPACE OPTICAL COMMUNICATION. In my work I analyze that:

Coherent QPSK Modulation is Best Among RZ AND NRZ for Free Space Optical Communication.

Either Increase in Transmitter Power of Aperture area of the Tx and Rx will significantly improve BER.

Compare to PIN diode, APD improves BER as Receiver Sensitivity is improved.

As we increase our aperture diameters Q factor increases but for a particular aperture diameter Q factor starts decreasing as we increase the link distance and bit rates.
Can anyone explain why this is happening?

    Hi Ranjeet Kumar,

You are welcome Ranjeet and i have time and again mentioned it that you are one of the most active members on the forum…. The research papers from IEEE on WDM PON are indeed very informative and useful…

    Hello Ranjeet Kumar,
Thank you so much for providing Some more valuable information about the disadvantages of using DCF in WDM systems, Can you suggest me which dispersion compensation technique would be best to implement in WDM/DWDM system. Thanking you.

    Hello Ranjeet kumar,
firstly I want to say that the output optical spectrum at the WDM mux output is not clear, There is overlapping as the sidelobes have considerable power.

2ndly as suggested by you decreasing the bit rate and increasing the no of channels is same as a whole while total bit rate is concerned. So I think Better to keep the spacing 100 GHz and also same bit rate.

For cut of the Bessel Low pass filer cutoff was previously 50 GHz for 100 GHz WDM spacing, So for 50 GHz channel spacing at the optical domain what should be the cut off of the LPF used in electrical domain.

    Hi Taiwo Ambali Abiola,
I will suggest you to please refer to optisystem library component pdf file where you will various standard values of different parameters in the heading WDM design.
AS DCFs are highly nonlinear heavily-doped fibers with small effective areas.
The condition for perfect dispersion compensation is D1
    D1L1+D2L2 = 0
i.e., its length should be chosen to satisfy
    L2 = – (D1/D2) L1
Where D1 and D2 are the fiber dispersions of SMF and
DCF respectively. L1 and L2 are lengths. Thus the DCF has a large negative value of D2.

    Hi mohammed ridha al-shamapti,
Moreover I want to add that WDm-PON you can implement it using Optisystem. Plese have a look at the sample files provided from Optiwave side.

    Hi,
As i have mentioned in #Reply #35193, i am uploading the osd file OFDM- QAM pon networks design.
One is 4 channel unidirectional OFDM pon networks and other is bidirectional OFDM WDM pon.

Hope this may be beneficial for you.

    Hi Ranjeet

I believe what umer syed is referring to hear is that we have single source as for example CW laser and as multiple sources we have an array of CW laser or we can say WDM Transmitter containing multiple sources…

    Hello Everyone,
I have gone through many examples in optisystem and noticed the use of CW laser array, I want to make the same DFB laser array as it has some advantages of sharp side bands which may be useful to design a WDM system, I also want to know the best application of DFB laser. Thanking you in advance.
