To run the simulation, perform the following procedure.

| 1 | Save the project as a *.bpd file. |
| 2 | From the Simulation menu, select Calculate 2D Isotropic Simulation.The Simulation Parameters dialog box appears. |
| 3 | To start the simulation, click Run.A message box appears and prompts you to save the project and run the simulation. |
| 4 | Click Yes.OptiBPM_Simulator opens and runs four iterations, changing the refractive index of the waveguide each time (see Figure 13). |
