PIC circuit optimization using compact models with physical parameters
Optiwave offers a variety of simulation tools capable of supporting photonic integrated circuit design.
OptiSPICE plugin is a photonics model library that can be integrated into industry-standard EDA tools. It is designed to enable PIC simulation from schematic and mask layout.
In this webinar, photonic integrated circuit design, simulation, and optimization will be demonstrated using 3rd party EDA tools combined with Optiwave software.
Building fab-based photonic design kit components using 3D EM simulation tools will be shown. Simulation results for a PIC chip optimized using the OptiSPICE plugin will be demonstrated.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Cem Bonfil is the product manager of Optoelectronics at Optiwave. He graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics and a minor in mathematics. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on the simulation of optoelectronic devices and systems. Since his graduation, Cem authored multiple papers on the simulation of optoelectronic devices and systems. Cem started working at Optiwave in January 2015. He manages the development of Optiwave’s OptiSPICE product. Besides, he is in working on integrating Optiwave’s products into the PIC design and fabrication ecosystem by collaborating with industry and academia. |
