Can you help by saying how to build and analyse tiled or inclined FBG using optigrating? If you could guide me it will be more helpful

      Hi Ramya,

      The OptiGrating currently does not support titled FBGs. However, we are in the process of releasing a component for tilted FBGs.
      We would be happy to discuss your specific requirements and might be able to offer design-simulation services in the meantime. We are also open to partnership in research projects with academia.

      BTW, please let me know if you had further issues using the trail version.

      Hi sir,
      Currently a team in our college (SRM Institute of Science and Technology) is working under guidance of Dr. R. kumar and Dr. S. Dhanalakshmi of ECE department on various applications of FBG and its variations. As a part of this we have to analyse the various design specifications to optimize the fiber so that we can go for fabrication. Our requirement till now is as listed below. We want to analyse which will suit our application. Can you help us? How can we use optigrating for such TFBG analysing?

      Common Specifications:
      Center Wavelength (CW): 1550nm
      CW Tolerance: +/- 0.5 nm
      BW (Bandwidth @ 3dB): 0.3nm
      BW Tolerance: +/- 0.05nm
      Reflectivity: >50%
      Temperature rating: -20C to +100C

      Model 1:
      Tilt Angle: +15 Degrees
      Cladding thickness: 125 um
      Coating type on the Tilted FBG: None
      Optical Connectors: FC/APC at both ends
      Grating length- 20mm
      Fiber length- 1m

      Model 2:
      Tilt Angle: +15 Degrees
      Cladding thickness: 125 um

      Thank you for sharing the designs with us.

      I was wondering if you have access to an active license of OptiGrating (or any of our other products) or interested in acquiring such a modeling tool?

      As I already mentioned, we are open to collaborate with academia and interested in having experimental verification for our simulation tools. In this regards, we are able to simulate your tilted FBG sensor designs and share the results to be verified against your experiments.
