Sweep layout parameter

Hello Everybody,
Regards.

Could anyone explain the application of Sweep layout parameter in optisystem software. What for and where can we use it. Any component especially the CW laser has three modes. One mode is normal and the other is sweep mode. What are the benefits of this. Can anyone please explain it with some implementation or any project file where it is used. I will be thankful.

I would suggest you to go through Lesson 5 of the tutorial which mentions the function of sweep. You can go through it to get some idea

What i understood from the links is that we can use multiple iterations for our values.
Does this mean that i can use sweep mode for bit rate also..

No we are not able to sweep the bit rate although we can sweep every other parameter. What is your actual problem with sweep?
Do you want to evaluate your system for more than one data rate?

Hi All.

I was unaware about the sweep of bit rate. Personally i think we should be able to sweep bit rate because sometimes we require to analyze performance of same system for various bit rates. I think sweep will work there though i am not sure.
Anyway thanks for this point Shafeen.

Atul was right we cannot sweep data rate. we have to set bit rate as function in script mode if we wish to use two bit rates.
