or the gain in order to get the desired Q factor or minimize the BER by optimizing the fiber

There are couple of visualizers (WDM Analyzer & Electrical Carrier Analyzer) in OptiSystem that can be used to monitor the signals in the optical and electrical domains and calculate the gain/loss.

you may use the optimization feature in OptiSystem. You could setup the optimization for the length of the fiber for a criteria of Q-factor or min BER.
