      Hello everyone
can anyone plz tell me how can i represent BER in some other form (without exponents)
earlier i was representing it in the form of -ve log of BER
Bt since some of the BER values came 0; so they cannot be represented in -ve log form.
it is important to convert these for plotting them.

Hi Anamika ,you can find no of ways to calculate the BER .I have attache a link below

      May this will help you.

      hi, Sam Sung
the problem that i am facing is not the calculation but the representation
i have already calculated the BER; now i have to plot the graphs
for that i have to change the exponential form of BER into normal form
one of the way is to convert it into negative log
But since some of the values have come 0; so they cannot be converted.
i am asking; is there any other way in which i can represent BER in normal form (without exponents)

      Hi Anamika,

According to its definition, bit error ration (BER) is usually represented by number or err. bits to the total number of bits transmitted. Such value can be represented either in powers of e or through log in dB. I don’t think there are any other units for BER. However, BER is directly related to OSNR, which will be non-zero value (since you’ll always have noise in your channels…) Can you use it as a substitution for BER?

Hi Anamika, I think you can use Q-factor (in dB) instead of BER on your plots.

      Hi, Ravil
even i was thiking of this substitution bt was not sure.
      you cleared my doubt. thankyou

      hi, Alessandro
I am done with plotting the graphs for Q-Factor

Hi Anamika, what do you mean with “I am done”? Is the solution of plotting Q-factor acceptable?
