I want to add Silicon Nitride(Si3N4) with kerr nonlinearity in material manager. I am having n0(Linear Refractive index) and n2(Nonlinear Refractive index), but in optifdtd we require with Linear Permitivity, Response time and Permitivity. Is there any relation to calculate these values from n0 and n2. or any resource to find these values for silicon nitride.

Under the FDTD-Nonlinear folder right click and create a new Material. From there you can choose whether it is a 2nd, 3rd, Kerr … type material. Since you only have the nonlinear index that means to me that you would be making a 3rd order material. You then just need to convert the index to a susceptibility. You can find the calculation on the web.

      Regards
