Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiSystem is a comprehensive software design suite that enables users to plan, test, and simulate optical links in the transmission layer of modern optical networks.
OptiInstrument addresses the needs of researchers, scientists, photonic engineers, professors and students who are working with instruments.
OptiSPICE is the first circuit design software for analysis of integrated circuits including interactions of optical and electronic components. It allows for the design and simulation of opto-electronic circuits at the transistor level, from laser drivers to transimpedance amplifiers, optical interconnects and electronic equalizers.
OptiFDTD is a powerful, highly integrated, and user friendly CAD environment that enables the design and simulation of advanced passive and non-linear photonic components.
OptiBPM is a comprehensive CAD environment used for the design of complex optical waveguides. Perform guiding, coupling, switching, splitting, multiplexing, and demultiplexing of optical signals in photonic devices.
The optimal design of a given optical communication system depends directly on the choice of fiber parameters. OptiFiber uses numerical mode solvers and other models specialized to fibers for calculating dispersion, losses, birefringence, and PMD.
Emerging as a de facto standard over the last decade, OptiGrating has delivered powerful and user friendly design software for modeling integrated and fiber optic devices that incorporate optical gratings.

Hello,
How I can add an optical null to my simulation design ?
Thanks much
There is a component in the Tools library for that, called Optical Null. If you ever need to find a specific component try righ clicking the default Library folder and choosing Find Component. You can then search by name.
Cheers!
The optisystem has a component for its purpose. Search in the library “Optical Null”
thanks alot damian
what is an optical null? to indicate no signal?
Hi Kelly,
It seems so. Please take a look at the output signal from the optical null that I have got access to using Matlab component. All of the parameters in the produced signal (which has the format of Optisystem optical signals) have no values.
Regards
i see . thank you!! just wanna ask is there any instruction/guide that mention every components function in optisystem?
Absolutely! There is a help section which you can see by clicking on the “help” button in the properties of the component you want to know more about (You can go to a component properties window simply by double-clicking on it in the layout). There you find the function and some mathematical relations used for modeling the component. Also, for many components, there are examples of them being used in the systems in Optisystem sample osd files.
Hello Kelly,
When you have component with 3 terminals, then if you are using only two terminals and not using the third terminal then you can connect the third terminal with the Optical null.
