As we can set the input power level in the the vertical plane I want to know about how to calculate the output power level after the completion of the simulation.
Any idea please forward.
Using the area detector you can simulate and calculate the detected power travelling normal to the plane of the detector. This is very useful for calculating transmission and reflection spectrums.
Is area detector = observation point in optiFDTD?
Hi Saurav,
If you considering entering and exiting light beam, the entering point is usually taken at the source and the exiting point is usually taken at the detector where you observing and measuring the power. As Damian said the detector area cab be used for simulation and calculation of the detected power. In this case, it will be the terminal (observation) point for your simulation.
Thank you Ravil & Damian. It simply worked.
You are welcome, Saurav! Best of luck with your work and research!
Thanks again. But hey Ravil have you got any book with you named -“Photonic Crystals, Theory, Applications and Fabrication by Dennis W PratherC”. If so can you just attach the pdf file.
