How can I perform a pi/2 phase shift in Mach-Zehnder optical modulator in optisystem 13, please find the attached image.
With regards.

Hi Dhiman
Go to this content of featured discussion
There are two simple options. The easy one would be using the Mach-Zehnder Modulator which you only need to define the Extinction ratio. The second option is using the LiNb Mach-Zehnder Modulator which is a more detailed model. Using this model, you can define the Insertion loss, Extinction ratio, VÏ€ voltage, etc.
Since it is a dual driven device, the LiNb Mach-Zehnder Modulator can be setup to include settings for the bias voltages and the amplitudes of the modulation voltages at both arms, simply by checking the Normalize electrical signal box.
In the attached file, I have provided three examples using the LiNb Mach-Zehnder Modulator to modulate optical signals. Each example is set to a different bias voltage to achieve different pulse carving characteristics. Instead of using the internal options of the modulator, I have provided external circuitry and an external bias to drive the modulator in push-pull mode.
If the Absorption and Phase data is available, then it is easy to implement the Dual Port Dual Drive Mach-Zender Modulator Measured component.

I think the image which you have shown is of dual parallel MZM.
Dear Damian,
Can you please suggest how to implement the dual parallel MZM in optisystem.

Dear Dhananjay, I am sorry to say that I am also new to optisystem, please give me some more time.

Dear Dhananjay, Please find the attached screenshot hope you will get it.

The dual parallel MZM could be implemented as in the above snapshot. Instead of driving the two middle vertical ports in the screenshot you could just force a 0 electrical signal there. You would then remove the phase shift component (the X coupler introduces a pi/2 phase shift on its own) or you could use a powor combiner.

Dear Damian,
I will try the same. Meanwhile can you attached a small design of parallel MZM generating a double sideband suppressed carrier signal.

Can some one help me by uploading a small design of Dual parallel MZM which can generate phase-coded microwave signals.
Please?? -
