could you please tell me what are the main things that we need to consider to get high Q factor and min BER in a system?
Hello Doaa,
typically, you need to minimize the noise and distortion of the received. Generally, the noise maybe due to ASE, dispersion, nonlinearity receiver noise and crosstalk. The distortion could be due to bandwidth limitation of MUX/DEMUX, filers, etc.
