Sir, I have used fbg as a compensator in wdm system with four channels 193.1-193.4. I placed fbg in the fiber span with reference wavelength of fbg as 193.1Thz. Does the gratings reject other wavelengths (such as 193.2,193.3,193.4 ).???. I’m getting same quality factor and Ber for all the channels . I tried placing each fbg at each receiver of each channels? ( but not getting good response). What does actually placing fbg of 193.1Thz in fiber span mean???

      Hi Gayathri,
FBG is acting as a filter effect w.r.t. frequency domain. so usually ur required to enter Optical frequency of the center of the Fiber Bragg Grating reflection spectrum. Try to set it in the center of the WDM system and check the results.

      Hope that helps,
      thanks
