      hi all
can we use EDFA to increase the power signal of wavelength 1310 nm?? and if we can what is the min input power and the max output power??

EDFA is normally suitable for 1550nm band where it provides maximum efficency performance wise.

      thank you aadilqau
but this means that we can’t use EDFA for 1310 nm?

Please have a look into attached file where gain verses wavelength tells the whole story about EDFA and SOA. According to figure, at 1550 is the region where gain is maximum for EDFA and below 1550 gain is reducing substantially.

The emission crossection of Erbium Doped in Silica Fiber at 1310 nm is completely negligible. So its not possible to amplify signal around this wavelength. The emission and absorption crossections of doped amplifier are the material property of rare earths. If rare earths elements that have appreciable emission crossection around 1310 nm are doped in silica fiber than we can obtain amplification at this wavelength.
