I want to design an optical OFDM system with the help of 4 QAM modulation technique.
Can somebody help me with defining layout parameters like bit rate, sequence length, samples per bit, symbol rate…..etc

      Hi Vishal,
here is some examples using Optisystem15. If you do not have it you can download the evaluation version for 1 month on your machine.

      best of luck

      hello Mohamed Abouseif Sir ,
      thanks for the reply…
unfortunately my system is 32 bit so i am working on optisystem 13,32 bit version.
I want to ask you one thing, the 4-QAM OFDM example given in the examples set works just fine but when i make changes in QAM sequence generator and detector(making no of bits per symbol to 4 i.e making it 16-QAM,keeping other components as it is.),I receive very bad constellation and bit error rate increases to high of 0.45 from 0.
      please find attachment.
please help me in this regard!!!

sorry i am not able to upload the project file.
it says- Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

      Dear Vishal,
what you are saying is reasonable. going up from 4QAM to 16 QAM might deteriorate the system unless some other factors would be adapted like losses, components bandwidths….etc. this is exactly the research concepts.
this is should be your task to have a better system with 16 QAM.

      hope that clears,
      best of luck
      thanks

      hello Sir,
Please suggest some modifications,it would be of great help!!
      thank you!!

I already did, bandwidths, nonlinearity in the system, dispersion, and length of medium of propagation.

      best of luck
