I want to inquire can we take optical amplifier gain in points… Like 23.941dB or we have to round off it Like 24dB

      The gain parameter does not need to be an integer. Fractions are fine.

      Hi Abdullah,

      Yes, you can, as you have been advised. However, it happens very often in practice that you need to maintain certain level of power at the receiver (due to sensitivity and overload issues). This level should be stable as well. Hence, most of amplifiers are produced with integer parameters (coefficients) of amplification.
