Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Home › Forums › SYSTEM › BER Analyzer shows Eye Diagram but Q Factor and BER values are zero in OptiSyste
Analyzer displays the eye diagram correctly, but the calculated parameters are all zero.
The results are:
Max. Q Factor = 0
Min. BER = 1
Eye Height = 0
Threshold = 0
Decision Instant = 0
Although the eye diagram is visible, the BER Analyzer does not calculate the performance parameters.
What could be the reason for this issue?
Is it related to the input signal type, the connection to the BER Analyzer, the simulation parameters (bit rate, sequence length, samples per bit), or a missing setting in the BER Analyzer?
I would appreciate any suggestions or troubleshooting steps.
