      Hi everyone,
By OptiSytem software, can we simulate optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) ? I want to design a project that can locate fault of optical fiber.

      Hello Nguyen,
OptiSystem 16 will have time domain representation of Rayleigh backscattering. Using this feature with bidirectional components will allow you to investigate OTDR applications.
The release will be available soon.
      Regards,
      Ahmad

      Thanks for your answering.
If you know can you explain to me about the values contained in the attached image?
And I want to know more about Min.BER. It should is how be good? In Figure, Min.BER is 0, I think this is not real.

      Hello,
when you get BER 0, it means no received bit is wrong. However, practically and depending on the data rate, the BER can be 1E-12, 1E-9, or even 1E-3 when error correction codes are used.

      Regards,
      Ahmad
