      Dear Friends and Researchers
Hope you all will be fine
ASE noise can be modeled in optisystem using white light source. If we want to produce spikes in ASE noise before coupling with signal, then please let me know how to produce spikes in white light source?
I need your help.Requested all please to respond
      Regards

      Hello Muhammad,
it is not common to use the term ASE spikes.
ASE bandwidth can be controlled using optical bandpass filters. ASE can be generated using white source, LED, or EDFA without signal at its input. OptiSystem have the required components to adjust the ASE level in certain bandwidth for controlling OSNR at the receiver or at any place in the transmission link. Many examples can be found in the example library of OptiSystem.

      Regards,
      Ahmad

      Dear Sir Dr. Ahmad

Thanks for co-operation.As discussed over email, the term ASE spikes is not used in literature commonly but ASE burst is frequently used term. When noise power is higher enough such that it becomes comparable with the signal power, it is called as “ASE Noise Burst”.
      Regards
