Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiSystem is a comprehensive software design suite that enables users to plan, test, and simulate optical links in the transmission layer of modern optical networks.
OptiInstrument addresses the needs of researchers, scientists, photonic engineers, professors and students who are working with instruments.
OptiSPICE is the first circuit design software for analysis of integrated circuits including interactions of optical and electronic components. It allows for the design and simulation of opto-electronic circuits at the transistor level, from laser drivers to transimpedance amplifiers, optical interconnects and electronic equalizers.
OptiFDTD is a powerful, highly integrated, and user friendly CAD environment that enables the design and simulation of advanced passive and non-linear photonic components.
OptiBPM is a comprehensive CAD environment used for the design of complex optical waveguides. Perform guiding, coupling, switching, splitting, multiplexing, and demultiplexing of optical signals in photonic devices.
The optimal design of a given optical communication system depends directly on the choice of fiber parameters. OptiFiber uses numerical mode solvers and other models specialized to fibers for calculating dispersion, losses, birefringence, and PMD.
Emerging as a de facto standard over the last decade, OptiGrating has delivered powerful and user friendly design software for modeling integrated and fiber optic devices that incorporate optical gratings.

hi guys,
i have two questions about the noise of Optical amplifier,
1. what is the relation between ASE noise wavelength & signal wavelength.
2. how to filter out the noise in optisystem or what are the filter parameters to filter amplifier noise in optisystem.
i hope your replay will help me to understand better.
thanking you all again
hell
Hi Hell,
you can add or exclude noise from calculations from noise_tab by check/uncheck the Convert noise bins check_box.
please try these two cases and observe the output of Optical spectrum analyzer_1, (choose All signals)
thanks
Mohamed Abouseif
hi Abouseif,
I did what you have told me to do, & yes it works!
Since ASE noise is the real property of a optical amplifier, & i want them to stay & eliminate them by any real option like filter, like Fabry Perot Optical Filter.
so my question is, what are the appropriate settings of a filter to reduce ASE noise?
i did try with Fabry Perot Optical Filter but i could not find any better setting of the properties. so hope forum will help me.
regards
the hell
Hell,
In principle if you use a filter having the same center frequency of the noise generation and the same bandwidth so you will eliminate the noise effect but at the same time you will eliminate part of the signals that occupy this bandwidth as well!!
