      Hello,

I am using “user defined DLL” to model HC-PCF. I prepared 651*651 BMP HC-PCF image, changed it to *.rid file using Matlab, and loaded it using “ProfileFromFile.bpd”.

      The bpd file header is:
      UPI3DRI 3.0
      651 651
      -6.500000000000000e+01 6.500000000000000e+01 -6.500000000000000e+01 6.500000000000000e+01

Therefore, the point is exactly divided to 0.5um/pixel. However, when you compare two images in the attached files, you see that result ref. Index map shows discontinuity which is not in original data.

      Here are some questions.

      1. What should I adjust to make it continuous? It means that I can adjust to keep the original file’s ratio.

      2. In the REf. Index View, I see “Downsampling level:(1)(2) Resulting grid size:(750)(375).” How is it calculated or modified? I guess that it is related to my result.

      Thank you,
      Huitaek

There are two images, in one there is a honeycomb photonic crystal fibre, in the other there is the same image but with fewer points in the discretization of the image. One of the images comes from an .rid file with Nx = Ny = 651. The other image must be from the ref. index view in an OptiBPM project. The discretization of the OptiBPM project will follow the settings found in the 3D tab of the Simulation Parameters dialog box. There is a panel called Mesh Size for the number of points to be used in X and Y. Could the OptiBPM project have smaller mesh parameters? Nx appears smaller than 651, Ny also appears smaller than 651.
