    Hi,
    For wideband WDM system, we have:

    wideband WDM based on fused type 1×2 splitter joint with isolator;
    equipement allows two-directional optical transmission on one fiber in 1310 or 1550 band, with standard OLT in PDH and SDH systems (STM4 inclusive);
    main parameters:
    ◦ bandwidth 1310±20nm or 1550±20nm;
    ◦ insertion loss (for one pair) < 8dB;
    ◦ channel isolation > 32dB;
    ◦ operating teperature range –5…+70°C.

    Hi FAYIQA NAQSHBANDI Ma’m
    The main challenges of implementing NG-PON2 (TWDM PON) are the spectrum allocation and the need for “colourless” ONTs, which must be able to send and receive signals on any of the specified wavelengths. The ONT transmitter must be tunable while the receiver requires a tunable filter. Colourless ONTs based on tunable transmitters and receivers are likely to be more expensive than GPON ONTs. Optical component vendors are developing new technologies to help bring down costs. The use of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in the ONT is highly attractive because a low-cost manufacturing process would enable mass deployment. Furthermore, since tuning technologies mainly rely on temperature control, a key challenge is to maintain low power consumption in the ONT.
    Therefore, colourless” ONTs have importance with reference to selection of the the transceiver section of the Optical Line Terminal Units (OLT) and Optical Network Terminals (ONUs) in TWDM-PON.

    Hi everyone,
    Could you explain the different between Next-Generation PON 1 and 2.
    What are different technologies of NG-PON 1 and NG-PON 2.
    I am really confused about different technologies of both.
    Because in some paper i have read that OFDM PON in NG-PON1 and TWDM PON is NG-PON 2, while in some paper both OFDM PON and TWDM PON is both NG-PON2. I am also confused about WDM PON in which NGPON it falls NG PON 1 or NG PON 2.
    Please guide me to get rid of my confusion as early as possible.
    Seeking your Interference as per your availability.

    Thanks and Regards

    hello all.. i hv a question to ol..plz i need help in this case.
    i am designig a four channel wdm system and i want to compare results of every receiver with every other receiver 4 different values of power in terms of performance…also fr diffrnt fiber lengths varying frm 30km to 150 km.. is thr way whr i can do all at the same time fr each receiver..bcz the way i am doing my results change aftr almost evry simulation run..
    thanking in advance

    hi dhiman,

    i also have seen such deye diagrams my self…even i have seen multiple eyes in single i diagram…it is bit confusing.
    i do not nat have exact what i actually did then to get my eye diagram right,but i am very confident that problem was in the bandwidth setting of the WDM mux or demux….

    please check these settings

    with regards

    Hello everyone
    I am bit confused when this kind of eye diagram comes as shown in the attached image, what may be the possible reason for this. it is from WDM system design as attached here. Thanking you.

    Hi Urvi pathak,
    I am also not getting the expected output. rather I am getting an eye diagram as attached in the reply no. 33931. Still looking into the problem and once I get the solution I will upload the design file. without using WDM the system is giving very good result but when I implement the same transmitter and receiver in WDM the eye diagram is as in abouve component. Thanks for the patience.

    Hello everyone,
    I have gone through many examples that are available in optisystem examples on folder WDM implementation. in the CW laser array, I am not getting why they are using power in the script form but not in normal form and moreover sweep iteration upto level 7 they are using. What are the advantages of using in that manner. I am worried because as the no of sweep iteration increases the whole system execution time also increases. I have attached here with the snapshot of the same . Please have a look. Thanking you in advance.

    Hi dhiman
    Here I m sending snap shot of my transmitter, optical link and receiver. I m working on 4 channel wdm each with 10gbps and compensating dispersion with dcf. Channel spacing 50GHz. 193.414thz to 193.564thz.

    HELLO RANJEET..
    Thanks for sharing many important points but here i would like to ask you in what context you mean that All the TWDM ONTs must be colorless..
    Which does it imply..??
    Does it have any importance with reference to selection of the the transceiver section of the Optical Line Terminal Units (OLT) and Optical Network Terminals (ONUs) in TWDM-PON..?
    I would appreciate if you explain a little further on this..
    Thanks & regards

    Hello Jyoti Raina,
    I have modified the 16 channel NRZ ideal WDM design from the library to have 4 channel at the input and find acceptable BER and Q-factor. Please have a look into this design attached herewith and respective wavelength wavelength snapshot.

    The modification I have done here are following,

    the transmitter output changed from 16 to 4.

    deleted unnecessary blocks.

    fiber centre wavelength to 1563 nm.

    Dispersion compensation fiber reference wavelength to 1563 nm.

    WDM demux output wavelength to the 1st two transmitted wavelength i.e. 1565 nm and 1563 nm.

    Thats all.

    Thanking you..

    hello jyoti raina

    Try uploading your .osd file in order to get a better of your problem and also try to upload a screenshot of the wdm mux setting and that of wdm demux. so that the help for you would be presize enough .

    Regards

    Burhan
