    Friends, Im doing a spectrum slicing wdm with 4 channel using FSO but im getting output BER for only first channel, rest BER are coming as 1 and no eye diagram . If someone knows where i went wrong, please help! Im attaching the .osd file for your reference.

    i’m having trouble designing a two channel wdm dispersion managed soliton system that have the following parameters. reference peak power=5mW, T(fwhm)=5pS,channel spacing =15nm, attenuation=25db with 100km amplifier spacing and non linear coefficient of 2 and Dispersion of standard fiber is 12 and DCF is -10.I’m attaching the osd file. please help

    Hi all,

    As an attachment below, I just wonder how the Dual Port WDM analyzer calculate the Noise Figure, since NF (dB)= OSNR (dB)in- OSNR (dB)out
    but when I calculated the value of OSNR from WDM analyzer from the same Input and Output port as the Dual Port WDM analyzer I got the difference value of NF. and in my long haul transmission I got negative value of NF(dB), so is it ok to get a negative value of NF?

    Hi Jayeshkumar,

    I am also working on RoF link. However, I am not considering WDM in my work and my range is upto 70 Km

    Acceptable BER for RoF links is upto 10e-3. This value is known as ‘FEC limit BER’. This means that the we can tolerate any BER less than 10e-3 and the Forward Error Correction Codes (FEC) help in bringing down the BER to less than 10e-9.

    I suggest that you run your simulation for different fiber lengths and check at what length BER is attaining 10e-3. This is the maximum distance your link can have.

    I had attended an IEEE conference recently and one of them presented their work – BER comparison in ROF links.

    I have a problem about measuring the optical signal power.
    I use Optical power meter and WDM visualizer. But the measured power in them is different!!!???

    Hi Everyone,

    I want to know about the difference between Optical Spectrum Analyzer and WDM Analyzer and how does these two work, since I found out that there is difference result in term of Power for the same project. And which is the best or recommend visualizer(power of signal and noise) for an accurate result in a system design.
