I have also experienced more or less the same problems as you are stating now. I had created a WDM-OFDM system using optisystem 13 32 bit which would give component error whenever it was run. This was solved the moment I used v.13 64 bit and from now on, I have been suggesting this version to those who wish to use optisystem trials.
