      Hello.

      I have had a problem with installing of Optisystem v13. As already mentioned in earlier post that it takes a lot of time in the course of installing and seems to stop responding when “extracting files”. I tried it many times but it just seems to stop there. When i try to cancel the installing my PC stops responding. Can someone help me with the installation procedure.

      Any suggestions what can be the possible reason this is happening?
      i will attach the screenshot. Hope that will lead to some solution.

      Here i am attaching the screenshot. It is here where my PC stops responding. It takes a lot of time till here and then it fails.

        Hello Kanwarjeet

        I think you should consult the optiwave people. Try contacting them because it is unusual problem and in this matter they can help you out. They must help you in this installing procedure. I hope you get required help.

          Hi Remo,

          Thank you for the suggestion. I contacted them and they told me to look for a 64 bit PC because they only support latest version i.e v14.

      Try restarting your pc and then installing it will surely be of help…

      It is evaluation version of optisystem 13. It also mentions at start that i will get free access for first 30 days but however it does not get installed. I hope some comes up with a solution.

      Hi Kanwardeep,

      I would also suggest you to try reinstalling after restarting your PC… It will surely be installed…

      I am also using the same optisystem 13 evaluation version… It works fine.. Anyways hope you get your query resolved..

        I am using a older version at some other place that too works fine. I took optisystem v13 set up from someone who already has worked on it. I don’t know what is the exact problem.

      HELLO KANWARJEET..

      Well as far as your problem is concerned i think it has to do with up-gradation. Version 13 has been already removed from the optiwave website and there is only version 14 available. So i think it may be the problem but i am not sure..
      Why don’t you try optisystem version 14 it is the latest released version.
      I hope you will find it helpful.

        Hi Fayiqa.
        First of all thanks for your interest. Actually i have tried that too but it does not get installed on my PC as my laptop is 32 bit and it is exclusively for 64 bit laptops. That is the reason i am trying for 32 bit optisystem version 13. What can be the possible solution any idea?

          HELLO KANWARJEET..
          I don’t get what could be the exact problem..I think it is the first time i am hearing about this problem..Previously there had been problems or errors while opening or accessing the software..So installation was not mentioned in any case.. Normally i would hear about “terminating license” error or something like that.. I think you should message Bryan Sir regarding this. He will give you some sort of solution to your problem… Hope it will be helpful you.

      Hi Kanwarjeet,
      The image you have attached is right image which is taken during extracting the files.
      It happens during the installation of optisystem.
      I think the problems you are talking about is related to your computer hardware or software.
      I am surprised to know such problems.
      Fisrt you should try to install the software file to other PC to check it is corrected file or not.
      Then try to install on your PC.

      Hi Rajguru Mohan,

      I contacted the optiwave support. They are telling me to get a 64 bit PC because they support only latest versions. I don’t know what to do now. Unfortunate.
      I need to install the version 14 then on a laboratory PC then. That can be the solution now.
      Anyway thank you all for your help and kind suggestions. I really appreciate that.

      Hi Kanwarjeet.

      yeah probably that is the solution for your problem. Actually it is kind of strange that they don’t have 32 bit set up for optisystem 14. Although most people use 64 bit Now but still it must have been an option.

        I agree with you on this. They should have put up a 32 bit package as well as all softwares do come in both 32 and 64 bit package. Anyways i hope now the later version works well with my older design.
