      Hi everyone. Greetings to all.

I have a querry i don’t know if i am logically correct or incorrect. Actually i want to merge two signal with some sort of cross modulation in an add component. If i am transmitting a signal from CW laser with NRZ then Is it possible for me to change the modulation scheme for the signal i am adding. I want to know if it is possible here. I hope i get some help regarding this. will be looking forward for your replies. Thank You.

      hi atul sharma,

i think it is logically sound merge two signal with some sort of cross modulation in an add component.i think you have posted nearly same quary in another post…
the spectrum at the transmitting wavlength say 103.1 tHz after the add component will get get strongly distorted…

      with regards

      Hello Aasif.

It will be very kind of you if you share the link of that post. I really need help in this regard. i am facing problem in doing so. I hope you got what i am trying to implement. Can you please share some example also which mentions two modulations schemes used for two transmitted signals. I will be of great help if you do it. Thanking you for showing interest.

      Hello Aasif Bashir Dar. Greetings.

I got your point and yes we are able to implement two different modulation schemes for two different wavelengths or signals at the same time. I was in dilemma because i couldn’t find any paper mentioning so but luckily came across some journal in optical society of america where he has used two different schemes for two signals in the same system but it deals with encryption thing. Anyway thank you for showing some interest.

      HELLO ATUL SHARMA..

I strongly believe it is possible to do so.. All you need to do is use two separate transmitters and change the modulation scheme as per your requirement.. And in case of an add component it has two separate inputs for two different signals..so it should not be a big problem for you to implement this.. I hope this will help to some extent.
      Thanks & regards

        Hi Fayiqa Naqshbandi. Greetings.

      Hi Atul Sharma,

As rightly mentioned by aasif bashir we are able to implement two different modulation schemes for two different wavelengths or signals at the same time and as pointed out by Fayiqa we can do so by using two separate transmitters and change the modulation scheme which suits your design..

        Hello Umer Syed. Greetings.

Well the query had more to do with changing parameters of the individual signals. In particular the add component which i will have to use. I was not sure if it was possible at first but with some help and guidance i came to know that it is possible to adopt to this implementation which i have had mentioned. Anyway Thank you for showing your interest and providing suggestions.

      hi all…
it is very much possible to implement two different modulation schemes for two different wavelengths or signals at the same time by using by using two separate transmitters and change the modulation scheme which suits your design. But i think the spectrum will get distorted.
      with regards.

Hello Zulkarnain. Greetings from my side.

Well thanks for showing interest. I already got cleared about the query and by the guidance of some generous person the problem and confusion is over. We can easily use two modulation schemes in our design and it is for some purpose we are using it. The consequence of distortion on the waveform is secondary but anyway thanks for pulling up an important and worth mentioning point.

      Hello Atul Sharma,
As far as your query is concerned regarding adding a signal to an add component with different modulation scheme, yes you can do it easily. As per your system requirement you can easily use two different modulation schemes for both signals ( for one from the CW laser and one for the signal to be added in the add component). And yes you can easily change other parameters of the signals too. I hope you you would find it helpful.
