Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiSystem is a comprehensive software design suite that enables users to plan, test, and simulate optical links in the transmission layer of modern optical networks.
OptiInstrument addresses the needs of researchers, scientists, photonic engineers, professors and students who are working with instruments.
OptiSPICE is the first circuit design software for analysis of integrated circuits including interactions of optical and electronic components. It allows for the design and simulation of opto-electronic circuits at the transistor level, from laser drivers to transimpedance amplifiers, optical interconnects and electronic equalizers.
OptiFDTD is a powerful, highly integrated, and user friendly CAD environment that enables the design and simulation of advanced passive and non-linear photonic components.
OptiBPM is a comprehensive CAD environment used for the design of complex optical waveguides. Perform guiding, coupling, switching, splitting, multiplexing, and demultiplexing of optical signals in photonic devices.
The optimal design of a given optical communication system depends directly on the choice of fiber parameters. OptiFiber uses numerical mode solvers and other models specialized to fibers for calculating dispersion, losses, birefringence, and PMD.
Emerging as a de facto standard over the last decade, OptiGrating has delivered powerful and user friendly design software for modeling integrated and fiber optic devices that incorporate optical gratings.

Hi everyone,
While studying many research paper, I came across some graphs plotted using Detuning voltage vs received local oscillator power, I want to know in details what is detuning voltage how to set it or how can we calculate it in optisystem.
Regards
Hi Prarthana,
Can you please introduce the paper you are referring to? In some systems like the ones with coherent reveivers, transmitter and receiver lasers must have the same frequency. If their frequencies are not set the same, the difference is referred to as “detuning”. However, I haven’t heard of voltage detuning.
Regards
Hi Alistu, I have attached herewith the paper pdf. At the 4th page the various detuning graphs are shown please go through them. How to find those graphs. Thanks.
Regards,
Prarthana
Here is the attachment.

Here, the Mach-Zehnder modulator should be biased at the quadrature point, and the detuning voltage refers to the voltage difference between the bias voltage that is used and the quadrature bias voltage. For example, 0.1 v detuning voltage means the used voltage for MZM bias differs 0.1 volt from the MZM DC bias voltage for quadrature point.
Regards
Hi Alistu, I have seen in many example that the the bias voltage are give as one positive and one negative, so is this the same case of that one, if so the how much voltage should I apply. Thanks for your response.
Regards
