Your simulation results give great amounts for Q-factor, and the bit-error-rate acquired by the system in the paper you are working on has a non-zero value, while yours is zero, which is the least amount you can get! So I’d say yes, your BER is quite acceptable. Please compare the eye openings in both images you have attached with regard to the amplitude unit.
