You should adjust carrier wave to prevent power wastage, moreover carrier doesn’t carry any information unlike side bands.
What do you mean by scheme BER=1?

Hi,

You better to use MZM instead “sine generator and Electrical multiplier”. Because you are using DWDM PON, i hope it will work.

Because only side bands can carry information, so u should adjust the carrier wave to prevent power wastage. BER do not change.
