Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Thanks Damian!! Could you define more how is “the bends are not very sharp”. I would like to determine the bending with curvature radius down to 1 micrometer. The cases of bending includes 90 degrees, 180 degrees (i.e. like a u-turn) and 360 degrees (i.e. a closed ring). Will it be possible to use OptiBPM to simulate the bending losses of the abovementioned cases?
Thanks Steve! After I reduced the mesh size, the ADI mode solver returned one mode. However, the mode is a bit different from the mode found by the FD method.
Modes Modal Index Polarization
Mode 1 2.31022444, -0.00336495 FVect TE (by ADI method)
Mode 1 2.34768099, 0.0 FVect TE (by FD method)
The project is attached. Thanks for your help!
