ParticipantHow to set different bit rates for different transmitters in WDM OFDM examples? Thank you!

ParticipantHi Fady,
The value for bit rate in PRBS generators is set to the bit rate determined in layout parameters using script mode by default. To use different values for bit rate (for example for upstream and downstream data in PON), you can change it from script mode, or you can change the formula in script mode.

ParticipantThanks Alistu for your reply but there is no script mode in the advanced modulation examples only normal mode in the layout parameters. Only in the OFDM demodulator and the BER TEST SET you can specify the bit rate- where does the software takes the value of the bit rate from? There are no PRBS generator block. And how to set different bit rates?

ParticipantUsing script mode can be applied to any component which is making the pseudo random bit sequence, whether that component is the PRBS generator or any other component such as BER test set. Is it possible for you to upload the file you want to apply the different bit rates to? Or any other file to which you believe script mode cannot be applied.

ParticipantThanks a lot for your reply, so the BER test set is making the pseudo random bit sequence in the OFDM samples?

ParticipantYou’re welcome. Indeed the BER test set is generating the sequence, even though PRBS generator can also be used for this purpose. The reason for BER test set being used is the fact that it can better calculate the BER of the OFDM system than BER analyzer using some parameters used in OFDM such as number of training symbols and so on.

ParticipantBy the way How to plot the BER versus the received power for OFDM examples. I got the power value from the BER analyzers for other systems.
