Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

For SMF, EDFA amplifier used to compensate fibre loss and DCF for dispersion compensation.
Can this design used for a WDM 8 channels?
Hi Koll,
Systems that use WDM technique as a multiple access or modulation technique also launch their signal containing all the WDM channels (after being multiplexed on transmission side) into the same fiber. So EDFA and DCF can be used in the same way as they were used before (with regard to the center frequency of the fiber and channels frequencies).
Regards
Hi Koll, of course this can be used for WDM with 8 channels…it is actually used for systems of 100 channels and more 🙂
