Hi, i’m working on design FSO Channel using optisystem 21.
as shown in the screenshot, the optical power meter measures an output power from the channel higher than the transmitter launch power!
the power of CW laser is 6mW while channel output is 21mW
is there any problem?
Hello Murtadha,
the reason is related to your choice of the TX and RX diameters in addition to the divergence angle and range. If you check equation 1 in the FSO Channel component datasheet there is a term relates all of these parameters that could give you gain or loss to the signal depending on the setup parameters. If the issue is still not clear please email me at ahmad.atieh@optiwave.com and I’ll provide more details.
Regards,
Ahmad
I also have another problem, when i run the model and try to Achieve BER and SNR through BER Analyzer and Electrical carrier Analyzer, the results are incorrect and out of order, is it design problem or wrong tools?
