Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

I want to ask how to simulate BOTDA and Φ-OTDR in OptiSystem. I know that the component library includes Φ-OTDR, but my goal is to build a circuit for simulation and then verify it through experiments. Therefore, I want to simulate or design each individual component, as the Φ-OTDR component is an integrated component that may not meet my needs.
Hello,
The Phi-OTDR component allows you to load experimental data and verify the simulation.
You may email me at ahmad.atieh@optiwave.com to discuss further.
Regards,
Ahmad
I don’t need to simulate phi-OTDR for now. I want to know how to simulate BOTDA?And if I want to include the signal processing part, do I need to use MATLAB components?
