I’m making a simple model of optical transmission and I’m using Optisystem to evaluate the amount of error generated by optical fiber transmission at different lengths (5, 10 and 15 km respectively). In the simple transmission model I simulated, the eye diagram result shows ZERO at a minimum BER (attached file). What am I doing wrong for Optisystem to show this? Help me, please!
Thanks in advance
Dear Matias,
there is nothing wrong with your design. To view a closure of the eye and increase in BER, increase the length of the fiber above 50km for 10Gbps modulated signal and above 100km for 2.5Gbps.
Regards,
Ahmad
