Hello Everyone
Can anybody tell me the noise values (noise dynamic in dB) which i should for simulations using optisystem. the default value which optisystem provides for every component is 3 dB. I need to know the most ‘near to practical’ values for CW laser, WDM Mux and WDM demux.
I shall be grateful for any help provided.
Hi Marvi,
in the user manual, the Noise Dynamic is defined as “Threshold ratio for adaptation of noise bins” and is 3dB by default. I admit that I never changed this value in my simulations and I am not 100% sure I know what it is…I suppose it is not a “real” value (corresponding to a physical characteristic of a component), but should be more a value that is used by OptiSystem for its own calculations.
Hi Alessandro
Thanks a lot for the information.
You are very welcome Marvi. Let me know if you get a better insight of that parameter in the future!
Best Regards,
Alessandro
yess defintely
have a nice day
