Hello,
I would like to ask about the pr doped fiber block in optisystem 13.
what is the wavelength which it should be pumped with?
and what is the expected transitions?
and, Could I change this pumping wavelength to 444 nm?
thanks a lot for all

Yes, however the default cross section data OptiSystem has available for the Pr doped fiber only covers pumping regions from 900 – 1400 nm. THe component has been set up assuming 1000 nm pump wavelength. If you have your own cross section data available you should be able to simulate a different pump region.

thanks much for your reply.
what is the cross section data I need to pump the fiber with 444 nm?
if you mean the transitions I want. I need to pump the fiber with 444 nm and it will be transitioned to 719, 638, 605, and 522 nm with different values of reflectivities at the DMCs of the fiber. How I can do that with optisystem 13.
Please help me if you can.Amani

Hi Amani, I think you need to find some reference article or measure yourself in the lab the Pr cross section data around 440nm.

thanks for your reply,
I have edited my last reply, I give more explanations about my problem.may you explain your answer more?
thanks alot

Hi Amani,
I do not fully understand your question…is 444nm an absorption line of the Pr fiber or not?

Look at the Help file associated with the doped fiber component it describes the cross section file. Basically it relates a probability of photon absorption and emission to wavelength. Pumping near 444nm requires info regarding the absorption and emission around that wavelength.

thanks for all,
really I think that my problem is with the Pr doped fiber block.
About the Praseodymium.dat file, How I can get it and upload it?
the pr fiber component seems to be passive in my project. Please help me to solve this problem. My project is out of date.

We only provide the default data file and the ability to input another one if you have it available. Perhaps look for some data from some articles:
http://www.mdpi.com/2079-6439/1/3/82/htm
you could use for a Thulium fiber, after a quick google search I did not find many Pr doped fiber cross sections.

Hello,
Do not you have an answer for my question?
Or you do not want help me?I am waiting for your answer.
thanks for time .
