Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

dear damian,
greeting to you, i designed a linear fiber structure with three core hence i want to calculate the polarization effects ( birefringence) through effective mode index values which i calculated already .
Hi Vignes,
Are you using this birefringence for modulation? Just curious…
dear ravil,
i designed for spatial mode multiplexing but right now i designed only the structure hence i need to calculate birefringence effect
Hi
you can get the polarization independent by compare the effective index of TM, and TE. so you choose the geometries that have a similar values of the effective index ( TE = TM ).
so what is your advice to have an equal TE and TM?
Dear;
is there any lesson is tutorial that teach how to deal with polarization? I need to study about it. would you please let me know? many thanks. version 11 or 12.
