Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

How can I introduce phase noise in a local oscillator?
Dear Jose,
you may add electrical or optical noise into the local oscillator laser through biasing the laser or to the optical output if you use the Laser Measured component. Also, you may address controlling the laser phase noise if you use the CW Laser Measured component, where there is more adjusting parameters to control the phase noise beside increasing the laser linewidth.
I recommend reading the datasheets of these two lasers for more information.
Regards,
Ahmad
Dear Ahmad,
I meant electrical local oscillator, not optical. I would like to fed the laser with an electrical signal coming from local oscillator with the typical phase noise.
Best regards,
Jose
