the same traveling wave SOA component used for XPM,XGM, and FWM based wavelength conversion. from the optisystem samples i have seen that only two SOA parameters(confinement factor and initial carrier density) are changed to get the XGM and FWM based wavelength conversion respectively. pls any one clarify me about this parameter relation in detail and also i need parameter specification for the XGM with detail explanation.
Hi Selvendran,
Have you tried going to the component help for the SOA component? (By double-clicking and choosing the Help Option) The document gives a pretty good overview of the models used and the references.
Let me know if you need further explanation
dear damian, still i am having confusion to assign the parameter in SOA…. can u please clarify how can i calculate the saturation energy, saturation gain, amplification factor. can u please directly relate the above parameter from following link.
